TuTu Coconut Cake brings the cherished tradition of authentic Singapore kueh tutu to Westgate, continuing the legacy of this uniquely Singaporean dessert that originated in the 1930s. This specialty dessert shop celebrates the traditional art of hand-crafted steamed rice flour cakes, following time-honored recipes that combine finely pounded rice flour with rich coconut and palm sugar fillings, creating bite-sized treats that represent Singapore's hawker heritage.
The signature offerings feature freshly steamed tutu kueh available in traditional coconut filling with gula melaka (palm sugar) and crushed peanut variations, each carefully wrapped in fragrant pandan leaves following authentic preparation methods. Every piece is made fresh daily using traditional steaming techniques, ensuring the characteristic soft, slightly chewy texture that has made these cakes a beloved local delicacy. Prices remain affordable at approximately $3.50 for a box of five pieces, maintaining the accessibility that has defined this treat for generations.
Located within Westgate's diverse food court area, TuTu Coconut Cake provides convenient access to this traditional dessert for both nostalgic locals and curious visitors exploring Singapore's culinary heritage. The stall operates during mall hours, offering takeaway options perfect for sharing or enjoying as a sweet conclusion to shopping trips.
