Love their original egg tarts from this joint, but the atmosphere feels like pasar malam all due to one of their staff member repeatedly exclaiming in Mandarin, "multi-layer egg tart, buy 2 free 1". Let the product sell itself, for Christ sake! PS: I did not purchase the egg tarts because of her announcement. Also, may I suggest u change your packaging for your crustless loaf bread. It's too snug, and there are droplets of water seen in the package with the bread in them. It's heaven for mold!

My first time to buy bread later in evening and there were some bread on discount and cakes too. There was no signage in shop and only one lady staff shouting something like 3 for $5 for a basket of buns and cakes. There was also a discount for their japanese cheese cake which I decided to buy. When I went to the cashier to make payment the staff Alex, a young man looks totally disinterested to serve me even though there was no one ahead or behind me then. As there was a similar basket of steamed buns and cakes at the cashier's I decided to buy three of them and was told cos I chose the strawberry steamed bun it costs $4.90. I assumed it was $4.90 each and ask him what type of buns/cakes qualify for $5 for three. He just pointed to another plain steamed bun which I took. Shouldn't there be a signage to make it clear to customers? After payment Alex, without asking me whether I want the receipt quickly tore away the receipt. Is that the norm? Why print a paper receipt to be torn away? The only thing he mentioned to me was whether I wanted a plastic bag. I was not informed this plastic bag is free or to be paid. Again a sign would suffice eg Four Leaves have this signage that only the first plastic bag is free. And when I asked him for a receipt he told me I needed to wait as he has already thrown away the receipt and is now ringing up the tills for the next customer. I needed to wait for my receipt even though it was already printed. This is a waste of paper and time! What a lousy service at this shop! Bread talk is one of our local companies which is frequented by many, yet their service staff lacks the basic service towards customer. Yes it could have been a v popular joint as it's location is at Westgate next to the JE mrt but I wonder why there is no signage for discounted bread and cakes throughout the shop? Why do the staff assumed that customers do not want a receipt? And why is the cashier Alex totally not interested to serve a customer waiting to make payment? I hv seen good and consistent service at local bakeries like Four Leaves and Swee Heng where there are clear signs if the bread or cakes are on discount after a certain time. Come on Breadtalk please train your service staff better.

My mum bought the loaf of bread from breadtalk Westgate on 29nov. Without realizing that it is just 1day from expiry(30nov). Our expectation is 3days. Seems they really have very poor quality control. Moreover, It's not a clearance item. Just take note when purchasing.

My mum bought a loaf of bread from BreadTalk Westgate on Nov 29, without realizing it was just one day from its expiry date (Nov 30). We expected it to have a shelf life of at least three days. It seems they really have very poor quality control. Moreover, it was not a clearance item. Do take note when purchasing.
